What is Olami Giving Day?

Giving Day is a 24-hour online fundraising event on December 8-12 2019 for all member organizations that are affiliated and supported by Olami.

We invite communities, students, parents, friends and alumni to join Olami Giving Day because we are GREATER TOGETHER! The goal of this campaign is for our member organizations to raise funding for programming through-out the year while earning matching funds.

How do I make an impact on Giving Day?

It’s easy. Make a gift in support of your favorite organization. When you do, you’ll also help unlock matching gifts thanks to the generous supporters. After you make a gift, post to your social media accounts and encourage others to support the campaign.

Tweet, WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram and email about it. Encouraging others to participate spreads your impact even further.

What can I do to help get the word out about Giving Day?

Please tell your friends about Olami Giving Day by posting on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram using #GIVEFORGREATNESS.

This year’s theme is all about supporting the organizations that are globally making an impact on the Jewish world connecting thousands of young adults to their Jewish heritage. Take advantage of the sharable content in the Toolkit. Be sure to check out the social media challenges to learn how your tweets and posts can win even more for the school or program you support.

What are the leaderboards?

Leaderboards are online scoreboards showing the names and current funds earned by the organizations and programs participating in Olami Giving Day. As donors make gifts, the results are displayed on leaderboards in real-time.

Where do Giving Day gifts go?

Your gift will go directly to the organization you select. They will use the money to continue their important work engaging young adults and making a vital difference in their lives.

Where does the challenge / matching money come from?

Each organization is supported by generous donors who agree to match gifts in order to increase the chances of a successful campaign.

Is it safe to make my gift online?

Absolutely. The Olami Giving platform utilizes a technology called TouchNet that is PCI compliant. Credit card information will not be stored and is not accessible to TouchNet. The contact information you provide to Yeshiva University will remain private and secure.

Is there a minimum gift amount?

Organizations will accept gifts of $10 or more.

Can a gift be made by mail or phone?

Gifts can be made by phone or e mail during the time allocated. Please find the contact details on campaign page you select to support. Gifts must be made during the given time-frame (8-12 December) to be counted toward the contest goals or matching funds.

Is my Giving Day contribution tax-deductible?

You will receive an email confirmation that will serve as your receipt for tax purposes. Please consult your tax adviser if you have questions.

How do I make multiple gifts?

Start by selecting the first organization you would like to support. Use the drop-down menu to direct your gift to a specific organization, then enter the amount you wish to allocate. To add another gift click on a different organizations page and donate again.

ABOUT OLAMI:

Over a decade ago, in response to the alarming rate of assimilation in the Jewish college communities across the globe, a number of benefactors joined together to launch a worldwide campus and young professional effort to reconnect Jews to their heritage, their faith and their land and to inspire Jewish greatness within each of them.

Now, over ten years later, Olami is a global community representing a united effort of organizations in over 300 locations around the world to secure an inspired, engaged and knowledgeable Jewish tomorrow.

With the Olami Foundation providing manpower, program development and management, students all over the world are experiencing the exhilaration of Jewish living through textual study, Shabbat, seminars and trips, and most critically, through the eternal bond between the Diaspora Jew and the State of Israel.

While every Olami member organization is independent, we all share a common vision, and work together through sharing of resources, ideas, programs, training and more in order to get us closer to that vision. To date, over 100,000 students’ lives worldwide have been impacted by Olami.

Part of the Olami Giving Day 2019 Givingday, raised $4,496,005 of $5,000,000 from 2460 donors
